My name is Mac McDonald, and this is my wife, Cheryl.

For most of our lives, we believed we were following God. We were raised in and deeply committed to the Latter-day Saint faith. I served as a missionary, we were married in the temple, and we spent many years actively serving in church leadership and ministry opportunities. We sincerely wanted to know God and honor Him with our lives.
Yet despite all of our religious activity, we never had assurance that our sins were forgiven or that we possessed eternal life.
Everything began to change when we started studying the Bible for ourselves.
As we compared what we had been taught with the Word of God, we discovered that salvation is not earned through works, ordinances, or personal worthiness. Salvation is the gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
On September 29, 2020, our lives changed forever as we placed our trust completely in Jesus Christ as Savior.
For the first time, we understood what it meant to be saved by grace through faith. The burden of trying to earn God’s acceptance was replaced with the peace of knowing that Christ had already done everything necessary for our salvation.
Since then, God has transformed our lives in ways we never could have imagined. He led us into a deeper walk with Him, opened doors for ministry, and eventually called me to serve as Pastor of First Baptist Church of Casa Grande.
Today, our desire is simple: to faithfully follow Christ, love people, teach God’s Word, and point others to the hope that is found in Jesus Christ alone.
If you have questions about our story, our church, or what the Bible teaches about salvation, we would be honored to speak with you. We would love to welcome you to First Baptist Church of Casa Grande.
